If a patient is in pain after simply standing or walking, they may suffer from Metatarsalgia. It is an unpleasant side effect of a Bunion or a Rigid Big Toe, causing pain mainly at the front part of the metatarsal bone below the smaller toes. The main symptoms are irritated skin and increased cornea. Sometimes surgically treating the Bunion and/or Rigid Big Toe is enough to ease the pain and restore a harmonic gait pattern, other times an additional treatment is necessary.
