Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is a medical procedure of performing surgery through small-sized skin incisions (about 3mm), keeping the soft tissue around it intact.
This technique can be used by foot surgeons for treating early stages of hallux abducto valgus, hallux rigidus or various forms of little toe deformity. In the case of later stages of said defomities, MIS will only be performed to support the common technique of open surgery. Considering this, we recommend getting a diagnosis by a podiatric specialist as early as possible, so that MIS, the more gentle alternative to open surgery, will be sufficient.
